About Eddie R. Cole

Eddie R. Cole, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the College of William & Mary, the nation’s second oldest college: chartered in 1693.

He is a scholar of higher education history whose work focuses on college presidents and student unrest. As a National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellow, his current book project is a national study of how college presidents responded to student protests for civil rights in the early 1960s.

In addition to historical research on college presidents, his secondary area of research involves several studies about faculty teaching practices in higher education.
